A Man Called Ove
A Man Called Ove is a comedic novel about a crusty old man that immediately brings to mind Carl Fredricksen from Disney-Pixar's "Up". Like "Up", this book can also tug at your heartstrings, as you follow Ove through all the stages of life and their accompanying emotions. It's quite a fascinating look into what makes a person like Ove into the man he is, and how there is actually a lot more to him than meets the eye. Despite touching on some pretty dark subject matter, Fredrik Backman manages to put a positive spin on his book by putting its heavier themes into perspective. Overall, this was a fun read, and I think it's a novel I will be recommending to someone looking for a heartfelt book that is funny and insightful.
