The color blue has countless subtle variations, and Bluets captures all of its nuances through beautiful ruminations.

Nelson's thoughts are fragmented at times, and the transition between them can be a bit jarring, leaving little time for the reader to form coherent connections between them. However, that's okay, as Bluets is obviously more poetry than prose. Bluets' blue-hued cogitations may be better consumed in small doses, lest its reading become reminiscent of perusing an exhaustive catalogue of the color.

Despite any shortcomings of Bluets' continuity, the reader is sure to find valuable sapphire gems of insight among its pages. And so, stepping back to view her canvas as whole, Nelson has painted colorful visions with varying brushstrokes that yield an intricate tapestry of blues that is as deep as it is wide.
