Culpability

Family on vacation colliding with AI is a premise that could have been thrilling. Instead, Culpability flops spectacularly. The single setting makes the story feel cramped and repetitive. The tragedies that are supposed to shake the characters barely register. Their responses are shallow, perfunctory, almost comically underwhelming.

The AI elements of this story lean hard on clichés that have been done to death, and the endless twists where every character is hiding a secret feel forced to the point of absurdity. Stakes are inflated, suspense is manufactured, and I could not care less. The characters are thin sketches at best, leaving no emotional anchor as the story progresses.

A few hints at human agency and blame in a machine-dominated world almost shine, but they are too little, too late. The middle drags endlessly, the tension is fake, and the story never hits. Culpability may be passably readable, but it is also painfully unremarkable.
