Parade

3.25. In Cusk's Parade, the tone and themes are consistent throughout, but that isn't enough to prevent this "novel" from reading more like a collection of fragmented short stories. That being said, Cusk's prose is always on point, at times even evoking the brilliance of Virginia Woolf. Despite the beauty of the prose, at times it veers from raw and palpable to infuriatingly abstract, hollow, and long-winded.
